Zenga is Zen inspired painting. Our personal approach to Zenga utilizes Haga and Nenga. Haga are compositions that combine Haiku poetry and painting. Nenga is a style that was brought by Zen monks from China in the 14th century. It utilizes free, intuitive brush strokes, intended to reveal the core essence or being of the subject matter. When something is seen as it is, we experience clarity. Clarity brings simplicity. Simplicity brings quietude and repose. Only a quiet mind can dissolve into the deep inner subtleties of what it is experiencing.
