It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Michael passed away August 26, 2023, peacefully, with family by his side.

He was a wonderful, long time friend and an awesome artist. I loved working with him over the years and had a great time at his art openings and exhibits in the gallery in OKC and Oregon.

Michael Swearngin,  AZ

Michael's interest in the American Cowboy began at a
young age in Olathe, Kansas and his art career began
in San Antonio, Texas in 1973.

He developed his contemporary style of painting with rich colors and textures, combining his interest in contemporary art with the fading heritage of the American Cowboy.

Swearngin exhibits throughout the US including noted western museums; Phippen Art Museum, Rockwell Museum of Western Art, NY, the Booth Western Art Museum, Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Museum of Western Art, Texas, The Pearce Museum in Texas.
